There’s no greater demonstration of the importance of social status than with children and teenagers. For many, the culmination of this process comes in high school. 

It’s in these stages that we are placed, partly by ourselves and by society in much bigger part, into a virtual petri dish from which our attitudes and conceptions develop and influence our social health and status later on.
